2 Columns vs. Rows  Columns run vertically; rows runs horizontally  A cell is where a column and row meet

3 Inserting a Table  Insert tab, Tables button, Insert Table…  Enter number of columns and rows

4 Keying Text in Tables  Use TAB to move from cell to cell (Shift TAB to go back)  Press TAB in the last cell to create a new row

5 Table Tools Layout tab Merge Cells Change Row Height / Column Width Change Text Alignment Change Text Direction

6 Table Tools Design tab Add Shading Add/Change Borders 1. Select cells 2. Line Style 3. Line Weight 4. Position

7 Adjust Columns to Fit Text  Put cursor on right edge of column to get double-sided arrow ( )  Double-click  If double-clicking does not work, use the double-sided arrow to click and drag manually

8 Center Table Horizontally  Select Entire Table ( )  Click Center alignment button or shortcut key (Ctrl E)
