During the 30 days before the survey, 42% of high school students nationwide had texted or e-mailed while driving 35% had drunk alcohol 23% had used marijuana 16% of high school students had smoked cigarettes 15% of students had not exercised 7% had not eaten vegetables 5% of high school students had not eaten fruit or drunk 100% fruit juices

During the previous year before the survey, 8% had attempted suicide 18% of students had used prescription drugs without a doctor’s prescription 9% of students had used inhalants 7% of students had used hallucinogenic drugs and ecstasy 6% of students had used any form of cocaine 3% of students had used methamphetamines steroid pills or shots w/o doctors prescription 2% of students had used heroin
