Definitions An expired Prospective Gain is when a member has not checked in by the EDA, and there is not a message in the EDVR indicating this event. An expired Prospective Loss is when a member has detached from duty station and there is not a transaction submitted.

Reasons For Error The sailor is aboard but there is not a gain event submitted. The gain event was entered but the sailor’s SSN or Name is incorrect. The sailor is not aboard but there is an order cancellation confirming them not being aboard in this case send message to (NAVPERSCOM), requesting the transaction to be removed. The sailor is not aboard but there is a (STO) standard transfer order or (STD) standard transfer directive received by the command. In this case compare EDA with the reporting date in the STO/STD. When dealing with prospective losses and a member has detached but this event is not reflecting in the EDVR then verify the detachment and then enter this event into members EDVR. If sailor has not detached, send messages to NAVPERSCOM stating reason why the sailor is still aboard.
