Who are the Persians, Arabs and Kurds and where are they located? (A very quick overview)

The Persians They are found mainly in Iran and Afghanistan. Accused by Sunni Muslims of killing the third caliph. Resent the Arab Muslims for forcing Islam on them. Most are Shia Muslim The language in which they speak is Persian.

The Arabs They are found in Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. 1.7 Million Arab-Palestinians living in Israel. About 200 million in the countries mentioned above. Understand that the majority of the Muslims today ARE NOT ARABS! Though in most Arab countries, they are Muslim. World wide – Arabs make-up 12% of the Muslim population. Most Arab-Americans are Christians.

The Kurds Located in Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria and Afghanistan. Largest ethnic group with-out a homeland. 65 million. They make-up 20% of the population in Turkey in Turkey and Iraq, and about 7% in Iran. Most Kurds are Muslims – Sunni, except in Iran, which they are??? Kurdish women have much more freedom than most Muslim women. They can show their faces. Less restrictive hijab.

Some Commonalities The Arabs are the largest of the three groups, followed by the Persians than the Kurds. The Kurds are the only group with-out a homeland. The Persians really do not relate to the Arabs. This has been a long, divided issue between the two. All three practice Islam, but not all are considered Muslim.
