Hip hop attracts a range of fans as hip hop contains sub cultures such as Gangster rap, Ghetto house Grime, Hardcore hip hop, Hip hop soul, Hip house. Hip hop is a good example of cross media for example, “making the band” series that helps talented artist become famous hip hop was very successful for this as making the band was founded by “puff daddy” (founder of bad boys entertainment). Also hip hop is covered by radio stations and music channels. However other recent years it has been marketed through T.V shows such as “lil romeo” an actor/ rapper gained more succes through his acting career leading to a rapid popularity gain in his singles.

Hip hop originally originated from “disco” however during recent years it rapidly gained sub genres in different countries such as England Germany and America. However this can also be seen as a bad thing as a sub genre can dominate music like hip hop dominated “disco”. Perhaps Hip hop is dying? Also hence the fact that hip hop’s sub genre “gangsta rap” dominates music hip hop has gained criticism as it promotes killing and violence. To young youths mainly afro caribbean’s.
