2. Fine Arts Program rated Recognized At El Jardin Elementary School music classes are offered to Pre-Kinder -5 th Grade students daily for 45 minutes. The Music Teacher is the campus choir sponsor in which choir Christmas Performances were conducted and other performances throughout the year. Cheerleading Performances took place as well. Wellness and Physical Education Programs rated Recognized Activities taken place at El Jardin Elementary School include Red Ribbon Week, BISD Track Meet for students and the Longhorn Run, which was a community fundraiser in which faculty, staff and students participated. 4. Community and Parental Involvement rated Acceptable Doors to El Jardin Elementary School are always open to community members and parents. There is a Parental Involvement Center utilized as a meeting room in which parents are invited weekly to attend different informative sessions. 5. 21 st Century Workforce Development rated Acceptable Weekly at El Jardin Elementary School College Awareness is celebrated throughout the campus. College t- shirts are worn every Thursday recognizing the college selected by their grade level. 6. Second Language Acquisition Program Exemplary Cultural traditions were observed such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Charro Days, El Dia Del Muerto and Patriot Day. 8. Dropout Prevention Strategies rated Exemplary PEIMS, at-risk attendance reports were monitored throughout the year. At-risk students were given the opportunity to participate in accelerated instruction (e.g. before school, after school; summer school; and 21st Century; recovery programs). 9. Gifted and Talented Program rated Acceptable Students in grades 1 st – 5 th grade were identified as gifted and talented. GT students received differentiated instruction in order for them to be challenged at their fullest potential.
