3. THE PATRIOT ACT OF 2001.  “Uniting and strengthening America by providing appropriate tools required to intercept and obstruct terrorism”. Passes in the wake of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001- a time of national unease and fear- the Patriot Act is passed by the Congress and became public law 107-56 on October 26, 2001.

4. FACTS ABOUT PATRIOT ACT OF 2001.  1. Sep11, 2001: Two hijacked airliners deliberately crashed into the twin towers of the world trade center in NYC.  2. Occurred on Americans soil.  3. 2,998 civilians died in the attack.  4. Fight terrorism.
