4. What is Hot Potatoes? This quiz authoring software is downloaded then installed on your computer. A simple interface is used to devise a series of questions and to prescribe the answers, with feedback if required. The questions are then assembled into a test and can be made available to students on your Moodle website. 8. Hot Potatoes The Hot Potatoes software is easy to use and intuitive and you do not need to know how to design or create web pages in order to use it. Many people use the standard “look and feel” for their questions but you can customise the colour scheme, formatting,control buttons and so on. Malcolm Roberts Wintec

29. Uploading your Hot Potato quiz to Moodle. First your quiz web page created by Hot Potatoes must be saved to a folder on your computer or computer network drive. Malcolm Roberts Wintec

30. Next login to your moodle site and navigate to your moodle course. Malcolm Roberts Wintec Go to the Administration block and click Files.

32. Add title to folder and click Create Malcolm Roberts Wintec

36. Click on the html file (webpage) you have saved. Then click Open. Malcolm Roberts Wintec Donot try to upload your saved Hot Potatoes quiz files that you might also have saved in this folder...They will not work in Moodle!

48. Inserting images to a multi-choice quiz First: locate your images and load into a folder on your computer clearly labelled. Malcolm Roberts Wintec
