2 WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO PASS YR 11 HISTORY? To pass you must demonstrate the knowledge and skills to meet an outcome. Each unit has three outcomes (Areas of study or Skills). To test that you have the knowledge and skills to pass each outcome you have an assessment task. (3 per unit, 6 total for year 11) If you fail an assessment task and do not meet that outcome, you can re-sit the task ONE more time.

3 Assessment Task Does this task meet the the outcome? ✓ Yes ✗ No Re-sit the task. Does it meet the outcome now? ✓ Yes ✗ No FAIL  How good is this piece of work? A+/A/B+/B/C+ etc.

Assessment Task: Written evaluation of Lenin’s role in the Russian Revolution.  Social life in Nazi Germany and the rise of Nazism. Assessment Task: Oral presentation of an aspect of social life in Nazi Germany. E.g. Hitler youth, propaganda etc.

Assessment Task: Research essay on a form of cultural expression. E.g. jazz music, film etc.

10 WHAT CAN I DO TO PREPARE MYSELF TO BE SUCCESSFUL? Holiday Homework To ensure a smooth and prepared 2011 please complete all of the following:  Set up a glossary and define the key terms on the handout.  Do a internet search and write a brief description of the Important people in the Russian Revolution.  Have answers to the questions in the booklet in preparation for the first session in 2011.  Have a look at the websites given and avoid Wikipedia!
