At its core repentance is an issue of authority. The call of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is for men to change and come in line with his character and purpose. The word surrender indicates that a change has occurred – repentance.

One of the most important things that the church is given to do is to repeat God’s call to repent. The world interprets the call to repentance as arrogant. The Good News preached without a call to repentance is a false gospel.
