ignorance Necessary to come out of ignorance (Acts 17:30). sins Essential to blotting out sins (Acts 3:19). personal ministry First word in Jesus’ personal ministry (Matt 4:17). Jesus The last thing Jesus said (Rev 3:19-21). urgency It is a matter of utmost urgency (Luke 13:1-5). hearing The result of hearing the Scripture (Luke 16:19-30).

convicted It is more than being convicted of sin. Governor Felix (Acts 24:24-25). confession It is more than a confession of sin. Judas (Matt 27:4). Pharaoh (Exo 9:27; 10:16). Balaam (Num 22:34). King Saul (1 Sam 15:24, 30; 26:21). Confess AND FORSAKE sin (Prov 28:13). contrition It is more than contrition for sin. Godly sorrow only leads to it (2 Cor 7:8-10).

correctionprevention The correction & prevention of sin. “To think differently or afterwards; reconsider.” (Strong’s) “To turn, or change one’s mind”. (Thayer’s) Active, Practical, Visible (Luke 3:7-14). (Jonah 3:10; Acts 26:20).

Zacchaeus Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1-10). “There is no one so good that they don’t need to repent.” Two Sons Two Sons (Matt 21:28-32). “There is no one so bad that they cannot repent.”

direction Repentance is not just a decision; it is a direction. “Awake to righteousness and do not sin!” (1 Cor 15:34; cf. Eph 4:26; 1 John 2:1). visible Repentance is not credible if it is not visible. “You are the light of the world (Matt 5:16).
