Location of Croatia in Europe Croatia is located in Central and Southeast Europe, bordering Hungary to the northeast, Serbia to the east, Bosnia and Herzegovina to the southeast, Montenegro to the southeast, the Adriatic Sea to the southwest and Slovenia to the northwest.

CROATIAN NATIONAL FLAG Croatian National flag is a red-white-blue tricolor with the historic Croatian chequered coat of arms (25 red and white fields) and stylized crown with five smaller shields featuring coats of arms.

The Kuna The currency of Croatia is the Kuna.

Croatian Language The Croatian language is based on a Southern Slavic language used in Bosnia, Herzegovina, and some parts of Italy.

Regions of Croatia There are eight zones that Croatia can be split into. There are the Dalmatian regions (purple, tan, blue, and light purple). The Mountain region. The Slavonija region. (Slatina is located in this region) The is Middle Croatia (green). The Kvarner region (blue/green). The Istria region(red).

INVENTORS - PEN Slavoljub Eduard Penkala (1871-1922) from Zagreb invented a mechanical ball pen which is bearing his name and now it is in everyday use.

INVENTORS - PARASHUTE Faust Vrancic (1551-1617) from Sibenik invented and constructed a parashute and also performed a first jump in order to test it.

Slatina is a small town which is in the east of Croatia (Slavonija region) and its population is around 12 000. We have two main Primary schools, two High schools and two kindergardens.

Our school has got 633 pupils in 37 departments and our regional schools, which are located in the villages near the main school, have 63 pupils in combined classes. We also have 15 children in classes with special needs and are divided into 3 classes depending on pupils age. Total number of teachers, pedagogical staff and administration is 63.

Pupils who attend our school are from age 7 to 14. Our classes are organized in two shifts which change every week.
