Who we are… RESOLUTIA RESOLUTIA is a non-profit national based association whose major objective is to foster ADR methods as means of settling disputes outside the courts. RESOLUTIA RESOLUTIA was founded in November 2000 by a group of young Lawyers and Law graduates, interested on the subject. RESOLUTIA RESOLUTIA addresses professionals, entrepreneurs, associations, Public Administrations and all those people and institutions willing to study, to promote and implement ADR methods, especially Arbitration and Mediation. RESOLUTIA is intended to set up a number of private Alternative Dispute Resolution offices throughout Italy, which shall bring together an extensive panel of professionals dedicated to handling disputes and offering ADR training.

What we do… ADR PROMOTION - ADR PROMOTION - Resolutia focuses on ADR promotion through the organisation of both cultural initiatives such as meetings, conferences, debates and seminars and editorial activities, including research and publication of books, magazines and other materials. EDUCATION AND TRAINING - EDUCATION AND TRAINING - Resolutia aims to foster a better understanding of the issues related to the Out-of-Court dispute settlement systems, among companies, public and private institutions, associations and Public Administration. Its education and training activity is carried out by both Resolutia itself and in co- operation with those private and public institutions, which are interested in ADR development. HANDLING DISPUTES - The establishment of a number of ADR offices shall lead to the creation of a widespread organisation, capable of providing a variety of services and legal advices, in all the matters related to ADR.

Why Resolutia… BECAUSE BECAUSE of the rising costs and the time delays of litigation, the traditional methods of settling disputes hardly prove capable of fitting litigants real needs. Litigants often lose control over their dispute and, even when they win, most of the times they feel disappointed about the solution applied to their case. BECAUSE BECAUSE ADR methods may grant rapid results and more flexible solutions. Moreover, they can provide parties with high quality solutions which can better satisfy the real interests of disputants. BECAUSE BECAUSE the ADR methods can better than traditional jurisdictional proceedings fulfil the various needs of companies and people. The term Alternative Dispute Resolution is an umbrella phrase used to describe different problem-solving methods or techniques, which can be classified into two main categories: adjudicative methods, such as Arbitration; non-adjudicative methods, which include Conciliation and Mediation. BECAUSE there are many advantages in using ADR. First, ADR processes are strictly voluntary. Second, instead of litigation, ADR methods are usually confidential and may protect the parties privacy. Third, they are aimed at seeking the litigants best interest.
