1 Claude Monet BY: ETAHN SUKONIK

2 Early Life (Oscar) Claude Monet was born on 14 November 1840 on the fifth floor of 45 rue Laffitte, in Paris. His father owned a grocery store and his mother was a singer.

3 Childhood and art training
As a child Monet attended the Le Havre secondary school of the arts. He made charcoal caricatures, which he would sell for ten to twenty francs to people who walked by. Monet also undertook his first drawing lessons from Jacques- Francois Ochard

4 Influences Monet was inspired on a trip to Paris when he visited the Louvre. He liked to draw inspiration from the work made by other painters. Also, when Monet served in the army he saw landscapes that inspired some of his art.

5 ART Monet never had a specific breakout piece of art. Almost all of his paintings were widely appreciated and renown. Here are some of his more famous paintings. His most famous piece is probably Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies.

6 Monet died of lung cancer on 5 December 1926 at the age of 86
Monet died of lung cancer on 5 December 1926 at the age of 86. Do to his own request to keep his ceremony simple only 50 people were allowed to attend. It was a very tragic event. Death

7 Artists he inspired So many artists were inspired by Claude Monet that it is difficult to find all of their names. Some of the more famous ones include: Pierre-Auguste Renoir Alfred Sisley
