Warm up Write down 2 alternatives for the following past tense verbs (said, run, walk) Use two of your verbs from the 1st question in a complete sentence. Look at the image: describe what would happen next using 5 verbs.

Writing the senses 1.What do you see? (describe the colour, what other object or thing does it look like) 2.What do you hear? (move it around in your hand- what does it sound like? Compare it to something else that you might hear sometimes) 3.What do you smell? (describe what it smells like to you using at least 3 adjectives) 4.What do you feel? (describe what it feels like in your hands. Use a simile: as ……as……) 5.What do you taste? (close your eyes and think about how you would describe the taste).

Write this in your book. 3.Roll the dice for the challenge/ problem. Write this in your book. 4.Roll the dice for the object. Write this in your book. Now use these FOUR random things to plan the beginning of your story with a partner
