Proverbs 14:13 & Psalm 34:19 Even in laughter the heart may sorrow, And the end of mirth may be grief. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all.

Do you have problems you don’t share with others? Do you have things that worry you that you don’t discuss with others? Do you have secret sin in your life?

What troubles can hide beneath the surface? Loneliness A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24

What troubles can hide beneath the surface? Depression Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad. Proverbs 12:25

What troubles can hide beneath the surface? Spiritual Doubts Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, "It is a ghost!" And they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, " Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.“ And Peter answered Him and said, " Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water."

Hiding troubles can cause unfaithfulness 1.Unknown troubles find no help from friends. 1.Unknown troubles cannot be taken to God in prayer by others And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. 1 John 5:15

Hiding troubles can cause unfaithfulness 2. Unknown troubles cannot be hidden or disguised from God Troubles are hidden from others but not from God The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God. – Psalm 14:2

Unknown troubles cannot be hidden or disguised from God When we hide our troubles from friends and attempt to hide them from God we show our lack of faith and trust in both. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. – James 5:16

2. God’s answer or answers will be righteous and should give us peace. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit. – Psalm 34:18

There is only one way to find rest Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
