6 No.6 INVESTMENT AND TECHNOLOGY PROMOTION OFFICE (ITPO) The Italian Government and UNIDO signed in 1985 an agreement aimed at creating in Investment and Technology Promotion Office (ITPO) in Italy The Office’s mandate is to support Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) competitiveness in developing countries by facilitating transfer of financial, technological and managerial resources necessary to implement industrial projects as well as technology transfer in these Countries. The activity is focused in the main Italian industrial excellence sectors, such as agro-food, leather and footwear, garment and textile, energy and environment.
