Recognition Process – the main steps 1) Gathering of the documentation; 2) Translation and legalization of documents; 3)Payment of fees for registering the process in a school; 4) Waiting period 5) Portuguese language exam; 6) Internship from 4 months to a year; 7) Final exam; 8) Registration in the Professional Council. Aims of the project To support the social and professional integration of immigrant doctors (non-EU citizens) whose jobs in Portugal do not match their academic qualifications in the process of obtaining recognition of their degree; To contribute to reduce the shortage of healthcare professionals in the Portuguese labour market. Social Support Portuguese language classes; Individual couselling; Psychological support Protocols celebrated with Medicine Schools; Protocols celebrated with the Immigration Services; Protocols celebrated with the Ministry of Health; Etc. Financial Support Payment of the translations needed to the recognition process; Payment of a monthly scholarship (during the internship); Payment of all the expenses required by the recognition process; Payment of technical books of medicine.
