Coin Drop Lab

Procedure: 1. Fill your dropper with water. 2. Hold the dropper 1cm above the surface of the coin, perpendicular to the coin. 3. Count as you drop one drop of water onto the center of the “Heads” side of the coin every second, until the water spills off of the coin. DO NOT COUNT THE DROP THAT MAKES THE WATER SPILL!

Procedure: 4. Record the number of drops the coin held in your data table. 5. Dry your coin. 6. Repeat steps 1 through 5 two more times.

Data and Results Create a data table to record:
The number of drops the penny held during each trial. One for heads, one for tails The number of drops the quarter held during each trial. One for heads, one for tails. The average number of drops your penny held. The average number of drops your quarter held. Have your teacher check your data table before you proceed to the lab station!
