Gathering and Sharing He Is Risen!

In the second year of King Darius, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, the word of the Lord came by the prophet Haggai to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, Haggai 1:1-9

and to Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest: 2 Thus says the Lord of hosts: These people say the time has not yet come to rebuild the Lord’s house. 3 Then the word of the Lord came by the prophet Haggai, saying: Haggai 1:1-9

4 Is it a time for you yourselves to live in your paneled houses, while this house lies in ruins? 5 Now therefore thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider how you have fared. Haggai 1:1-9

6 You have sown much, and harvested little; you eat, but you never have enough; you drink, but you never have your fill; you clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; Haggai 1:1-9

and you that earn wages earn wages to put them into a bag with holes. 7 Thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider how you have fared. Haggai 1:1-9

8 Go up to the hills and bring wood and build the house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored, says the Lord. 9 You have looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; Haggai 1:1-9

and when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why? says the Lord of hosts. Because my house lies in ruins, while all of you hurry off to your own houses. NRSV Haggai 1:1-9

Gathering and Sharing He Is Risen!

10 I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the sharing of his sufferings by becoming like him in his death, 11 if somehow I may attain the resurrection from the dead. Philippians 3:10-17

12 Not that I have already obtained this or have already reached the goal; but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Philippians 3:10-17

13 Beloved, I do not consider that I have made it my own; but this one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, Philippians 3:10-17

14 I press on towards the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let those of us then who are mature be of the same mind; and if you think differently about anything, this too God will reveal to you. Philippians 3:10-17

16 Only let us hold fast to what we have attained. 17 Brothers and sisters, join in imitating me, and observe those who live according to the example you have in us. NRSV Philippians 3:10-17

Gathering and Sharing He Is Risen!

Reflection and Confession Leader:Christ is risen! People:He is risen indeed!

Prayer of Confession The women who had come with Him from Galilee followed, and they saw the tomb and how His body was laid. Then they returned, and prepared spices and ointments.

Prayer of Confession On the Sabbath they rested according to the command- ment. But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb, taking the spices that they had prepared.

Prayer of Confession They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in, they did not find the body. While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men in dazzling clothes stood beside them.

Prayer of Confession The women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen.

Prayer of Confession Remember how He told you, while He was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be handed over to sinners, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.”

Prayer of Confession Then they remembered His words, and returning from the tomb, they told all this to the eleven and to all the rest.

Prayer of Confession Now it was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who told this to the apostle. Amen.
