How to Be a Soul Winner He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. Psalm 126:6

The Urgency of Soul Winning
Could a mariner sit idle if he heard the drowning cry? Could a doctor sit in comfort and just let his patients die? Could a fireman sit idle, let men burn and give no hand? Can you sit at ease in Zion with the world around you DAMNED? - Leonard Ravenhill thesoulwinner.org

Soul Winning is Witnessing
A witness is a person who tells something that he or she saw and knows. The purpose of our witness – to bring people to Jesus A true witness delivers souls (Proverbs 14:25) thesoulwinner.org
4
Soul Winning is Introducing People to a Person
In a way introducing Christ to a person is the same as any other introduction. thesoulwinner.org

Soul Winning is Planting and Harvesting
In the Parable of the Sower, the Seed is the Word of God. Some of the Seed grew; some didn’t. The sower was always the same. The Seed was the same. The ground where it was planted varied. thesoulwinner.org

Why God Wants You to Be a Soul Winner
God commands it And he said unto them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:15) But ye shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. (Acts 1:8) A true witness delivers souls (Proverbs 14:25) thesoulwinner.org

Why God Wants You to Be a Soul Winner
People are going to Hell without Jesus If your neighbor’s house was on fire, wouldn’t you try to save them? Why would you do any less for the people who are going to Hell? thesoulwinner.org

The Dynamics of Soul Winning
I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase For we are laborers together with God. (1 Corinthians 3:6, 9) One or more people can be used of God to witness to a person Another soul winner can harvest God is the One Who gets it done! thesoulwinner.org

How God Can Multiply Your Work for Him
Edward Kimball D. L. Moody F. B. Meyer J. Wilbur Chapman Billy Sunday Mordecai Ham Billy Graham Edward Kimball was concerned about one of his young Sunday School students who worked at a shoe store in town. One day Kimball visited him at the store, found the student working in the back stocking shelves, and led him to Christ then and there. Dwight L. Moody eventually left the shoe store to become one of the greatest preachers and evangelists of all time. Moody, whose international speaking took him to the British Isles, preached in a little chapel pastored by a young man with the imposing name of Frederic Brotherton Meyer. In his sermon Moody told an emotionally charged story about a Sunday School teacher who personally went to every student in his class and let each of them to Christ. That message changed Pastor Meyer's ministry, inspiring him to become an evangelist like Moody. Over the years Meyer came to America. While speaking in Northfield, MA a young preacher heard Meyer say, "If you are not willing to give up everything for Christ, are you willing to be made willing?" That remark led J. Wilbur Chapman to respond to the call of God on his life. Chapman went on to become one of the most effective evangelists of his time. A volunteer by the name of Billy Sunday helped set up his crusades and learned how to preach by watching Chapman. Sunday eventually took over Chapman's ministry becoming one of the most dynamic evangelists of this century. Billy Sunday's preaching brought thousands to Christ. Inspired by a 1924 Billy Sunday crusade in Charlotte, NC a group of Christians dedicated themselves to reaching their city for Christ. The group invited the evangelist Mordecai Ham to come and hold a series of evangelistic meetings in A lanky 16 year old sat in the huge crowd one evening, spellbound by the message the white-haired preacher gave. Each evening the preacher seemed to be shouting and waving his finger at the young man. Night after night the teen came and finally went forward to give his life to Christ. That teenager was Billy Graham. Billy Graham has communicated the gospel to more people than any other person in history. And it all started with a Sunday School teacher named Kimball. Millions have been affected by his decision to go into a shoe store and share Christ with one person. Millions more will continue to feel his impact. Can something like this happen today? Of course! God wants to use you to change the world. Make an eternal difference by sharing the gospel with those around you and by supporting others who do God's work around the world. Oh dear people we must look at every opportunity to share the gospel just like this. YOU have this same potential. thesoulwinner.org

How to Mark Your Bible Presentation Scriptures: 1 John 5:13
Just as a chef needs to sharpen his knives, you need to sharpen your Sword in order to use it effectively. Draw a red box around 1 John 5:13 In the margin next to the verse write “Romans 3:10” Draw a red box around Romans 3:10 and write “3:23” in the margin next to the verse. Use this procedure for all the verses in the presentation. Presentation Scriptures: 1 John 5:13 Romans 3:10, 23 Romans 6:23 Romans 5:8 2 Corinthians 5:21 Romans 10:9-10 Romans 10:13 thesoulwinner.org

How to Explain the Gospel Clearly
Don’t assume the person is a Christian. Use words the lost person understands and would likely be comfortable with. Point out the verses in your marked Bible. Remember: your job isn’t merely to “tell the Gospel” but to help the person understand the Good News and make a decision for Christ. thesoulwinner.org
14
X-Ray Question #1 If you were to die tonight, do you know for sure that you would go to Heaven? If they answer “No,” they are either lost, backslidden or misguided. If they answer “Yes,” they may or may not be saved. Regardless of how they answer, go on to Question #2. Our job is not to judge people, but, like a doctor, to diagnose people so we can determine how to help them. thesoulwinner.org
15
X-Ray Question #2 Suppose you did die tonight, and God asked you, “Why should I let you into My Heaven?” – What would you tell Him? Their answer to this question will tell you a lot about their spiritual Condition. Their answer will fall into one of two categories: WORKS or GRACE thesoulwinner.org

The Promise 1 John 5:13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. Important Truths You can have eternal life. You can have it now (you don’t have to wait until you get to Heaven to get it). You can know that you have it. thesoulwinner.org
17
The Problem Romans 3:10 As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one” Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God That means I’m a sinner, doesn’t it? The problem is, no one—including you and me–deserves to go to Heaven. Everybody- including you and me- is guilty before God. thesoulwinner.org
18
The Effect of Sin Suppose you had a 10-gallon jug of clean water.
Someone put 1 drop of poison into it. Would you drink it? Sin is like poison. One drop can pollute us and make us unfit for Heaven. The next verse I’m going to show you has some bad news and some good news. I’m going to show you the bad news first. thesoulwinner.org
19
The Condemnation Romans 6:23a For the wages of sin is death . . .
Wages—that’s Payday. Work for a week and you get wages for your work. Live a lifetime as a sinner and your payday is death. Not just death of the body, but eternal death of your soul in judgment for your sin. thesoulwinner.org
20
The Gift Romans 6:23b but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. The Good News is that God provided the Remedy for your sins. If I were to offer you a gift, would you have to work for it, or pay me for it? What do you have to do to receive a gift? If you didn’t take the gift, would you have it? Eternal life is a Gift from God. He paid for it. But if you never take it, you will never have it. thesoulwinner.org
21
God’s Love for You Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. What was the wages of sin? Death. What did Jesus do for you? He died. He took your punishment for your sins. How many people do you know who love you enough that they would die for you? That’s how much Jesus loves you. He died for you. thesoulwinner.org
22
God’s Perfect Substitute
2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Jesus took the punishment that you and I deserve so we could go to Heaven. You Jesus Sin Lie Deceit Perfect Righteous Holy The whole Bible can be summed up right here. Two thousand years ago God took all our sins and put them under Christ’s record. He took the blame as though He had actually sinned. Why did He die? Because that’s the penalty. Buyt He also shed His blood, and that takes care of the pollution, for ‘. . . The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin’ (1 John 1:7). Now that’s a record of history. God can actually transfer what one does from one record to another. Now God wants to take Christ’s righteousness and put it over on our account. We get credit for what He did and we go to Heaven as though we were actually righteous or perfect. If I deposited one million dollars in your bank account, would that make you a millionaire? Of course. God says, ‘. . . The righteousness of God Is Unto all and upon all them that believe’ (Romans 3:22). God deposits to our account all that Christ did when we believe in Him as our Savior. Do you understand that? This is what it means to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. (Sumner Wemp, The Guide to Practical Pastoring, pp ) thesoulwinner.org
23
Believe in Your Heart Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. Believe – not enough to believe the facts about Jesus. Trust Him to save you. God wants you and me to accept the offer of Christ’s payment in our place. We do this by telling God that we accept the Lord Jesus as our Savior for God says, ‘That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, andshalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved’ (Romans 19:9, 13) thesoulwinner.org
24
The Invitation (Rom 10:13) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Does this make sense to you? Would you like for us to bow our heads together while you let God know you want to receive the Lord Jesus as your personal Savior? Always ask people to accept Christ. Always give them an invitation, an opportunity to get saved. Now is the time to get saved. thesoulwinner.org
25
How to Draw the Net Is there any reason why you would not want to receive Christ now? thesoulwinner.org
26
Assurance: Where Is Jesus Right Now?
How do you know He is in your heart? Did He promise to come in? Would He lie to you? If everything goes wrong tomorrow, and you don’t feel like He is still there, is He still in your heart? How do you know? thesoulwinner.org

Happy Birthday Remember today’s date and write it in your Bible.
The Bible says that you are Born Again when Jesus comes into your life. Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. (1 Pe 1:23) thesoulwinner.org

Read the Bible and Pray Every Day
The Bible is how God talks to you. Start with the Gospel of John Read through to the end of the New Testament Then start with Matthew and read the New Testament again. Read 3 chapters a day and you will read the New Testament in 3 months. Prayer is how you talk to God. Adore Confess Thankgiving Supplication Prayer, in a very real sense, is asking God and receiving from Him. thesoulwinner.org

Baptism Get baptized as soon as possible
Baptism is like putting on the wedding ring. It identifies what you have done. Of course, it doesn’t save you any more than a ring marries you. Baptism is important as a first step of obedience, though. thesoulwinner.org

Tell Others About Jesus
Follow me and I will make you fishers of men. (Matthew 4:19) thesoulwinner.org

How to Handle Questions and Objections
Be confident There are only a few objections that people raise. You’ll hear the same ones over and over. Don’t let them get you off track “That’s a great question. Can I address that in a minute?” Compliment them If you don’t know the answer, don’t panic. Tell them you’ll find out and get back to them. This will give you another chance to reach them if they don’t receive Christ when are talking to them now. thesoulwinner.org
