4 Line Following Challenge Line Following Challenge NEW  Top 8 division teams in PM tourney ELIGIBLE: All divisions (Elementary, Middle, High School, & Big KIDS) CHALLENGE: An autonomous robot that uses sensors to track a line from HOME to TOWER, STOPS & DELIVERS PAYLOAD, BACK UPS & TURNS AROUND, and returns HOME GOAL: In a 3-minute heat, first complete a successful run from home-tower- deliver at least 1 ping pong ball-home, then deliver as many ping pong balls (1 POINT EACH) in a 3 minute heat ROBORAVE INTERNATIONAL CHALLENGES

5 Line Following Challenge Line Following Challenge NEW  Top 8 division teams in PM tourney SCORING: Points for leaving home, T-intersections, stopping at tower, delivering, turning around, returning home; then 1 point per ball delivered in 3 minute heats. See Optional pointsOptional points New ‘13: Morning of event: Open tracks to run as many 3 minute heats as possible. Top five scores earned in the morning plus optional points will be used to determine top eight teams for the afternoon single elimination tournament TRACKS: a ½ inch-wide (for ES, MS) or ¼ inch-wide (for HS, BK) black line on a white vinyl surface. Track is ~ 4’ wide x 5’ long and all curves are based on a 6” radius ROBORAVE INTERNATIONAL CHALLENGES

CHALLENGE: build and program an autonomous robot that can follow a 1.0” black line on a white vinyl surface while carrying a RoboRAVE International sanctioned Jousting Knight (find it on RoboRAVE.org Shop) RoboRAVE.org Shop GOAL: Knock your opponent’s knight off FIRST using ONLY your knight’s lance. 12 Jousting Challenge: Jousting Challenge: NEW  Top 8 ES & 8 MS teams in PM tourney SCORING: The Knight that knocks the other Knight to the floor FIRST can earn either 50, 100, or 150 points. Higher scores depend on how close to the other Knight’s starting line you are when you knock them off. If both Knights are knocked off, then the 2 nd Knight to the floor WINS If neither Knight is NOT knocked off, then RE-RUN the joust until a winner is declared TRACKS: Two 4 foot long parallel 1” black lines spaced 10” apart. Note: score areas of 100 and 150, 12” and 6” from opponent’s starting area see track design ROBORAVE INTERNATIONAL CHALLENGES

14 Fire Fighting ChallengeFire Fighting Challenge: NEW  Qualify 5/3; Top 8 teams in PM tourney ELIGIBLITY: Middle (MS), High school (HS), and Big KIDS CHALLENGE: Build and program an autonomous robot that can locate and extinguish candles without touching them GOAL: Find and extinguish 4 candles (3 behind 16” x 18” unattached vertical barriers) in an 8.0’ x 16.0’ field in 3 minutes. The robot’s extinguishing system must start and stop at each candle ROBORAVE INTERNATIONAL CHALLENGES

18 Robotovate® Challenge Robotovate® Challenge NEW  Gold, Silver, Copper winners by votes GOAL: Capture the audience’s attention to earn their vote with your amazing use of robots to demonstrate innovation…It is all about Robot + Innovation or as we like to call it…Robotovate® SCORING: Category winners of GOLD, SILVER, and a COPPER from most votes earned from all attendees. One PLATINUM winner for BEST robot to incorporate all four categories (from the GOLD winners). Ties split the awards and you must be present to win TRACKS: None provided ROBORAVE INTERNATIONAL CHALLENGES
