…if you love Math, Science, Social Studies, and English/Language Arts…your local neighborhood middle school has all that *AND* you get to enjoy your own neighborhood *AND* continue your favorite activities You guys will be able to WALK and BIKE to school We start the days at 8:15 and end at 3:30! If sleeping in a little doesn't appeal to you, then come to school early for daily tutoring or getting your homework done early, so you can have your whole afternoon to yourself and your family Talk about independence. Many of our students can stay for the afternoon activities and then walk or bike home on their own or in groups Do you know that ALL students (who aren't in detention?) have a right to go play outside during lunch? Ask your parents to drive around Lamar Middle school during the middle of the day, and they will see boys and girls running & playing their own games and doing their own thing around the track and in the courtyard. Enough about the simplicity of staying in the neighborhood & getting physical on campus, LMS also offers Pre-AP courses that count as high school credits. Algebra 1 & Geometry; 4 foreign languages - again, HS Credits; ART 1; Music History; Health..... Culinary arts, Life Skills, Guitar, 3 BAND levels - One of which is going to Indiana for the first time, Jazz Band, 5 choirs, All about theater productions, Dance, And at the end of the year, there are 6th, 7th, and 8th grade optional trips to go on - just for fun! Parents’ perspective for prospective students
