According to Height Cirrus Clouds are the highest clouds 6-8 kilometers high Alto Clouds are “in between clouds” about 2-4 kilometers Stratus clouds are the lowest clouds about 1-2 km. high

Special Cloud Type Cumulus clouds can occur at all 3 heights Cumulus Clouds are puffy clouds Cirrocumulus Altocumulus Stratocumulus

Description of Clouds Cirrus - wispy clouds made entirely of ice crystals, blown by wind high in the sky (usually indicates cold weather) Alto - mid level clouds ranging in type, can be a mixture of water droplets and ice crystals (make nice sunsets) (make nice sunsets) Stratus- sheet-like clouds that often cover the entire sky (light mist or drizzle sometimes falls from these clouds) Cumulonimbus- tall storm clouds heavy with rain or snow and usually lightning
