Notes for the game Break into two or three teams, ask questions, first team to raise hand gets to answer. We did two trainings, 22 people worked very well, 32 had a harder time getting discussions going One person (Host) should read the questions and decide who raised their hand first, another person (Vanna) should keep track of the score and help decide if an answer is correct. Prizes we used were candy and fishing lures to cement the connection to water quality. Random bonus points were awarded for good discussion, multiple right answers, and to keep everyone excited.
2
Notes for the game This was designed for the Maine good housekeeping SOP manual, and has specific references to those SOP’s. This was intentionally designed to make the public works folks dig through the manual to become familiar with the material. (An example SOP is on the next slide) The game is also set up to weigh the importance of different actions and spark discussion, and to be stretched out or compressed depending on how much time you have. There are notes associated with some of the slides to describe what we expected as answers.
3
Example of one SOP They were set up in the Always, Whenever Possible, and Never format.
4
Notes for the game Please give Maine NEMO credit whenever possible for this game (we need all the recognition (and funding) we can get!)

DISCLAIMER This is not a fair or impartial game. The host makes the rules (typically at random) and players have to tolerate the sloppy techniques, favoritism and bad math. Life’s not fair, I’m not nice, you don’t have to like it! –LaMarr Cannon
