Prepared by: Nicole Cameron, Lucy Gillis, Cameron Brow and Shawn Kieley February 2 nd 2015

* The benefits of utilization of space and improving the parking and traffic flow on St.FX campus

* Seeking more information from a survey targeted to St.FX students and staff, as broad as possible * Problems were selected by our own knowledge of the campus * Parking space being a large problem * More efficient ways for vehicles to come onto campus * Reducing vehicle traffic, especially around high concentrations of pedestrians

* Expansion of overnight parking at Governors Hall * Transition of Memorial Field into a parking lot * Using the West Street Apartments Land

* Adding speed bumps, crosswalk lights and sidewalks along Notre Dame Avenue * Redesigning Notre Dame Avenue * To turn Founders Walk into a usable road * Redirecting Martha Drive

* Extend the sidewalk from Nicholson stairs to meet with the sidewalk between the football turf and Bloomfield * Mount Saint Bernard

COSTS: * Depends on what solution we come up with for each problem * Staff – for the people we hire to do the jobs, contractors, specialists * Materials –Depends on what project requires what material, drywall fro renovating, pavement for roads * Equipment – cranes, bulldozers and excavators etc. BENEFITS: * If we build more housing units, may cause enrollment rate to increase * Putting in more parking spots we can decrease the amount of traffic that will circle campus * Modifying the crosswalks and streets on campus itself for student and pedestrian safety

* Economics – Large time period and costly ideas * Graphics and Design – Not a tangible model therefore we will need autoCAD or Inventor for visual purposes * Biology, Fundamentals of Environmental Engineering and Geology – for environmental impact and risk assessment * Communication skills – to seek out information from students, faculty and our mentor, also to be able to present our ideas to the general public effectively

* Setting limitations, goals and criteria will help cross out brainstorm solutions we have came up with * Research and background information will aid in outlining each solution and being positive that it is a better solution and that will solve the current problems * Analyzing all the stages, components, equipment, staff and costs allows a budget to be set and will give a general timeline on what has to be accomplished when and where
