4 Competency-Based training is a framework for designing & implementing education that focuses on the desired performance characteristics of healthcare professionals. Professional competence is the habitual & judicious use of communication, knowledge, technical skills, clinical reasoning, emotions, values, & reflection in daily practice for the benefit of the individual & community being served. The healthcare worker is one of the most important factors in the healthcare system. Healthcare providers are instrumental in stimulating, creating & maintaining healthcare improvement. Developing these competencies is a form of organizational change.

6 The purpose of this Case Report is to share the success story accomplished by Ahmadi Hospital related to Competency- Based Training, including all faced challenges, over the last six years, between 2008-2014; where competencies modules are reviewed, analyzed & updated every two years according to Kuwait Oil Company relevant training policies. 6
