Spiral Review The ee and ea in words stand for the long /e/ sound. For example: need and treat

Spiral Review To make most singular nouns plural, add s to the noun. Add es to nouns that end with s, x, sh, or ch. If the noun ends y, change the y to I and add es. If the word ends with f and fe, cahnge the f or fe to v and add es.

Spiral Review To add an s. Example: seed turns into seeds To add an –es. Example: peach turns into peaches. To add an –ies. Example: pony turns into ponies.

Your Turn With a partner find as many ee, ea, -s, -es, and -ies words you can in the story Jalapeno Bagles.

Spiral Review When predicting outcomes you need to: Think about how the characters think and act and what they say in the story. Use those details to make a sensible guess about what the character might do or say in a new situation.

Spiral Review Nouns can name one thing or more than one thing. Add s to most nousn to name more than one thing. Add es to nouns that end in s, x, ch, and sh. Some nouns, such as woman or mouse, change their spelling in the plural.
