2  Syrian Refugees: Drowning in the Flood Syrian Refugees: Drowning in the Flood More than 1.1 million refugees have fled the border, many more not registered as refugee status Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey host almost all the refugees Psychological trauma and severe living condition trouble the refugee children UNHCR (United Nations Refugee Agency) is receiving only 3% of the 1.5 Billion fund it asked for UNICEF appealed for $195 million to help meet the needs of Syrian children and women until the end of June but thus far has only received about 20% of the needed funding

It was terrible and I saw homeless children in the streets, children who didn’t have food.”  “When my school was destroyed, my dream of becoming a doctor was destroyed”  “I’m very happy that school has started; I enjoy Arabic and writing the most. I would like to be an Arabic teacher.”
