THESE ARE SOME OF THE TRADITIONAL DISHES THE PORTUGUESE EAT ON SPECIAL OCCASIONS Our intention is to give you an idea of the dish itself. The preparation may vary according to the region. Although Portugal is a small country, there are different ingredients that go along with the main course. This happens because of the influence of peoples like the Moors, in the South, or the Romans and Europeans, in the North. Desserts are common to the whole country.

“Bacalhau com todos” Codfish, boiled potatoes, eggs, portuguese cabbage and good olive oil on top Bolo Rei (King Cake) Round cake with crystallized and dried fruit (similar to English Fruit Cake)

“Aletria” Noodles, cinnamon, lemon zest and brown sugar “Rabanadas” Sliced bread soaked in honey water, fried and covered with sugar and cinnamon

Portuguese “cozido” Boiled potatoes, portuguese cabbage, carrots and smoked meat “Feijoada” Beans, portuguese cabbage and smoked meat (stewed)

Roast lamb Roast potatoes, rice in the oven and roast lamb “Pão-de-Ló” A kind of sponge cake

Almonds Almonds coated with colored sugar or chocolate “Folar” Sweet bread with light dough and boiled eggs

Sardines with “Broa” Grilled sardines and “Broa” – Corn bread with hard crust Punched potatoes Roast potatoes with peel

Portuguese Green Soup Soup with portuguese cabbage and smoked meat.

Roast chestnuts “Rojões” Pork (fried in its fat), potatoes, chestnuts and sausages
