A compound sentence is two sentences joined by a conjunction. Conjunctions And – I have a kitten and a puppy. But – I like the color green, but pink is better. Or – Do you want chips or a pickle? Because – I went to the hair salon because I needed a hair cut. COMPOUND SENTENCES

When you combine two sentences you DO NOT REPEAT ANY WORDS! Jack is tall. Jack is thin. Jack is tall and thin. You may play ball. You may not jump rope. You may play ball, but not jump rope. COMBINING SENTENCES
