Music Celebrations International is pleased to invite the S OUTH K ITSAP H IGH S CHOOL C HAMBER C HOIR AND J AZZ C HOIR to participate in the 2012 N ATIONAL F ESTIVAL OF THE S TATES concert series in W ASHINGTON, D.C. as part of the N ATIONAL C HERRY B LOSSOM F ESTIVAL C ENTENNIAL : March 20 – April 27, 2012. The National Cherry Blossom Festival is an annual event celebrating the friendship of the American and Japanese people. The 2012 festival will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the gift of trees from Tokyo to Washington, D.C. Music Celebrations is proud to join with the National Cherry Blossom Festival, the United States Navy Memorial Foundation, the National Park Service, Cultural Tourism D.C., and the office of the Mayor in welcoming you as a participant in this concert series. Performances arranged through Music Celebrations International are official events of the National Cherry Blossom Festival Centennial.

DAY 1: THURSDAY Afternoon arrival in Washington, D.C. Meet your Tour Manager, who will escort you through the duration of your activities Take a panoramic motorcoach tour of Historic Washington, D.C. Check into your hotel Attend a free 6pm concert on the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center Dinner at the Kennedy Center Café Take an evening walking tour of the Lincoln, Vietnam, Korean, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and National World War II Memorials, as well as the Washington Monument Return to your hotel for overnight DAY 2: FRIDAY Breakfast at the hotel Take a tour of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Lunch, on own Visit Arlington National Cemetery and participate in a special wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier* Dinner at a local restaurant Possible exchange concert with a local high school* Return to your hotel for overnight DAY 3: SATURDAY Breakfast at the hotel Take a tour of the Smithsonian Institute’s American History Museum, Natural History Museum, or Air & Space Museum Lunch, on own, at the Old Post Office Pavilion Take a walk along Pennsylvania Avenue for a view of the White House Take a walking tour of Capitol Hill and see the Supreme Court and Capitol buildings Visit the Library of Congress, the largest library in the world Dinner at a local restaurant Performance at a National Memorial or for Retired Veterans as part of the National Festival of the States celebration of the Cherry Blossom Centennial* Take an evening walking tour of the Jefferson Memorial and the Iwo Jima Marine Memorial Return to your hotel for overnight

DAY 4: SUNDAY Breakfast at the hotel Visit Ford’s Theater, where Lincoln was shot, and the Peterson House, where Lincoln passed away Performance at St. Patrick’s Cathedral (or similar) as part of the National Festival of the States celebration of the Cherry Blossom Centennial* Take a driving tour passing by Embassy Row and the National Cathedral Spend more time at one of the Smithsonian Museums Dinner at a local restaurant Return to your hotel for overnight DAY 5: MONDAY Breakfast at the hotel Performance at Sylvan Stage as part of the National Festival of the States celebration of the Cherry Blossom Centennial* Board motorcoach for a 1-2 hour drive to Gettysburg, PA Arrive in Gettysburg and stop at the Visitors Center A member of the Licensed Battlefield guides will escort you on a 2 hour tour of The Gettysburg Battlefield Time on own in the town of Gettysburg visiting historic buildings and homes and shopping at the local curio shops Dinner at a local restaurant in Gettysburg Return to your Washington, D.C. hotel for overnight DAY 6: TUESDAY Breakfast at the hotel Hotel check-out and board motorcoach Spend the morning visiting the Bureau of Engraving and Printing Afternoon departure for home
