He was Born in Virginia August 1, 1770. and died September 1, 1838 (aged 68 Signature Meriwether Lewis was born August 18, 1774 and was a explorer, soldier and a, politician he died October 11, 1809 (aged 35) Lewis and Clark led the expedition Signature

Route of exploration the expedition started in ST Louis and traveled up the Missouri River. They crossed the Rocky Mountains. They traveled down the Columbia River to the Pacific Ocean.

Black Tailed Prairie Dog Lewis and Clark discovered the black tailed prairie dog they are tan and have black tips on there tails they are native to grasslands Northern Spotted Owl Lewis and Clark also discovered the Northern Spotted Owl they nest in trunk cavities they lay 2-3 eggs

Lewis and clark discovered the buffalo berry it grows wild along stream banks in the Great Plains of North America,it is a currant-sized, scarlet-red or golden-yellow berry with a tart flavour. Prairie dog package Lewis and Clark liked the black tailed prairie dog so much that he shipped a live one to president Thomas Jefferson. The prairie dog survived the long journey the president was very interested in the prairie dog. Events on the expedition

Conclusion The Lewis and Clark Expedition was important to U.S history because it helped discover new plant and animal species and help create the first maps of the west The Lewis and Clark expedition is an important part of U.S history that will never be forgotten
