Advantages: Surgical specialty Immediate gratification Happy patients Increasing patient population (aging Boomers) Multiple sub-specialties: Retina (medical and surgical), plastics/orbit, glaucoma, pediatrics, cornea/refractive, pathology, neuro, uveitis 4 year residency (plus fellowship, if desired) Good compensation
