Where do plants come from?
Plants come from seeds. Each seed contains a tiny plant waiting to grow. A plant needs sun, water, nutrients, chlorophyll and carbon dioxide to grow. How do new plants grow? Pollination Pollination is very important to plants and other living things. It leads to new creations of seeds that grow into new plants.

How does Pollination work?
Pollination starts with a Flower. Flowering plants have several parts that are important in Pollination. Male parts of a flower are called stamens and they produce a sticky powder called pollen. Plants also have a female part called a pistil. The top of the pistil is called the stigma, and is often sticky too. Seeds are made at the base of the pistil, in the ovule.

How do Plants get pollinated?
Pollination occurs in several ways. People can transfer pollen from one flower to another, but most plants are pollinated without any help from people. Usually plants depend on animals or the wind to pollinate them. When animals such as bees, butterflies, moths and flies pollinate plants, its accidental. They are not trying to pollinate the plant. Usually they are at the plant for food.

How are plants are important to us?
Plants are most important thing to human. They are important to humans because all the food we comes directly or indirectly from plants. Plants also make oxygen, the gas we need to live. This picture demonstrate that when plants make food from sunlight they give off oxygen. Tiny bubbles rising from underwater plant’s leaves are oxygen.

How do chlorophyll help plants to grow?
Plants make food in their leaves. The leaves contain a pigment called chlorophyll that colors the leaves green and can make food that plant can use from carbon dioxide, water, nutrients and sunlight. This process is called photosynthesis During the process of photosynthesis, plants release oxygen into the air.

Plants and life on Earth
Plants make food Plants are the only living things that can convert light energy into food. Plants make oxygen One of the materials that a plant produces is oxygen gas. It is really important for living things to live. Plants help make and preserve soil In the forest or a prairie, the roots of plants help hold the soil together. Plants also help make soil.
