2. 2 Our Worship God is to be the object of our worship and devotion! We are not here to: –Be entertained or amused! –Visit other members! –Please others! 4. 4 Be Present At Every Service Possible! We are commanded to: –Not forsake the assembly – Heb. 10:25 Sing – Eph. 5:19 Pray – 1 Thess. 5:17 Remember the Lord’s suffering & death –1 Cor. 11:23-29 Give of our means – 1 Cor. 16:1-2 Study God’s word & attend to teaching & preaching –1 Tim. 4:13; 2 Tim. 4:2 Follow the pattern of Divine teaching! –1 Tim. 1:16; Tit. 2:7-8; 1 Cor. 4:16; 11:1 Improving Our Worship To God!

5. 5 Excuse You Can Use on your Boss! I’m sorry I was not at work yesterday, but friends came by unexpectedly. I’m sorry I was not at work yesterday, but I decided to make my traveling plans when I was supposed to be at work and just could not make it. 6. 6 Excuses! These excuses will not work with either your boss or with God, will they? We all do what is important to us. If we are willing to offer feeble excuses to God as to why we cannot attend, perhaps we need to investigate our hearts to see if we really are “worthy of the kingdom of God” - 2 Thess. 1:5. 8. 8 Be One Time At Every Service Possible! Being late can be a chronic problem! –It is a bad habit that can be broken! There are easy solutions: –Get up earlier! –Leave for services earlier! –Make an effort to be on time! –Plan better! Improving Our Worship To God!

9. 9 Be One Time At Every Service Possible! “Prepare to Meet Thy God”! –Amos 4:12 Jesus condemned the unprepared! –Matt. 25:1-13 We need to prepare to meet God in His house! Being late chronically indicates: –Lack of preparation! –Lack of respect! –Lack of proper devotion to God! Would your Boss accept excuse you make to God? Remember, God condemned excuse makers! 10. 10 Be in Your “Right Mind”! Our minds should be on the spiritual things! –Lk. 8:27-35 We are to worship God with our minds! –Matt. 22:37; Acts 17:11; Rom. 7:22-25 –Phil. 2:3-5; 2 Tim. 1:7; 1 Pet. 1:13 Focus on God & His Word! Improving Our Worship To God!

11. 11 Be in Your “Right Mind”! Prepare our minds before worship by: –Praying at home for: The brethren The sick The teachers, preacher & those leading the serivces That you might be receptive to God’s word & make proper application to your life! That your worship will according to God’s will! –Removing worldly thoughts & cares! –Meditating on the worship to take place! Improving Our Worship To God!

12. 12 Be Prepared! Have your Bible lesson prepared! –2 Tim. 2:15 Have your Bible and lesson book with you! Have your contribution ready! –We must “lay by…in store” which involves planning and consideration! 1 Cor. 16:1-2 –Rushing to grab what cash you can find available when the plate is passed lacks proper preparation! 13. 13 Be Properly Attired! What we wear to worship reflects: –Our attitude! –Whether or not we are truly humble! –What is in our heart! –The importance we place on the occasion we have been blessed with! 1 Pet. 5:5; 1 Tim. 2:9; 1 Pet. 3:1-7 Remember, we are coming before God! 14. 14 Be Properly Attired! David prepared to worship God! –2 Sam. 12:13-23! Joseph prepared to meet the King! –Gen. 41:14 What would you wear: –To attend a funeral? –To visit the President in the White House? –To attend some formal occasion? Improving Our Worship To God!

15. 15 Be Happy & Friendly! Have a good attitude! –Psa. 122:1 Be kind to others! –1 Cor. 13:4 –Eph. 4:32 –Col. 3:12-13 Don’t be partial! –1 Tim. 5:21; Jas. 3:13-17 –Prov. 24:23; Jas. 2:1-9 Improving Our Worship To God!

16. 16 Be Thankful! Count your blessings! –“it might surprise you what the Lord has done”! See song # 392 Some blessings to consider & give thanks: –For God’s physical & Spiritual blessings! –For the physical health we have to attend! –That we can meet without persecution! –For those present! –For Jesus who died for us! –That we have a comfortable place to worship!
