4 + ACT Question Topics 4 Common ACT Data Inquiry Topics My Data Inquiry Questions  What proportion of our students opted to take the ACT in the past few years?  Of those who take the ACT, what percentage pass the English benchmark score of 18 (are college ready)?  What percentage pass the Reading benchmark score of 21 (are college ready)?  What percentage pass the Math benchmark score of 22 (are college ready)?  What percentage pass the Science benchmark score of 24 (are college ready)?  What is the average ACT composite score for our high school in the past few years?

14 + Students who pursue advanced college-level coursework through AP, IB, or dual enrollment options signal that they have attained college readiness by virtue of their performance. AP subject test scores of three or higher (out of five) and IB subject area scores of five or higher (out of seven) often earn students college credit in those subject areas, and research indicates that scores in these ranges correspond with lower college-level remediation rates and higher college GPAs (International Baccalaureate Organization, 2010; Mattern, Shaw, & Xiong, 2009). Dual enrollment students who pass and earn credit for a college course typically keep the credits if they enroll in the host institution after high school. 17 + About AP Scores 5: Extremely Well Qualified 4: Well Qualified 3: Qualified 2: Possibly Qualified 1: No Recommendation 17 Students who earn an AP score of 3 or above are generally considered to be qualified to receive college credit and/or placement into advanced courses equivalent to a college course score of middle C or above.

37 37 ActionsTasks Check to see that all Fillable Forms are saved in the Data Folder. List the Data Inquiries where the “clarify” steps showed “HIGH PRIORITY” in terms of criticality. Schedule a School Improvement Planning meeting with the SIP team this summer. Organize local summative assessment data to analyze with the SIP team. Use the Data Inquiry Process and Fillable Forms to analyze local assessment data. Based on the “high priority” data findings, develop annual school improvement SMART goals. In the School Improvement Plan, utilize data inquiry HOPs statements and categories to develop critical strategies for improvement goals. Refine all details in the School Improvement Plan. Plan a “Roll-Out Launch” to communicate the SIP plan to all staff. Action Planning
