What happened to someone when they got the Plague? (use page 26) What cures did the villagers try? (there were no doctors or modern medicines) What happened to the people who caught the disease? How many died? What happened to each of your characters?

(the Priest, the Lord of the Manor) How do they feel? (scared, afraid, worried, upset) What does William Brewer feel? What do people say at the meeting? What does William Brewer say is causing the disease? (person to person) What does William say should be done? (isolate infected people) What does the Priest say about what is causing the disease? (God sent it) What does the Preist say should be done? (pray to show God you are sorry) What does the Lord of the Manor say? (bad air – use page 28) What does the Lord of the Manor say should be done? (use page 29) What did the villagers decide to do? How successful were they in controlling the Plague? (on average, a third died)

Who has survived and how do they feel? (scared, afraid, horror) What does William Brewer feel? (sadness at the death of his family) How did life get better for William and the other survivors? William is earning more wages (explain how much and why) William has more land (explain how and why) William has stopped working on the Lord’s land (explain why) William has a better standard of living (explain how it is better) Did anything else happen to William? Did William feel sad about his dead wife and family? Did William ever re-marry?
