Magpie I’m going to read aloud a fairy tale from Sweden about a boy who always wanted things he did not have.

Predict and Infer I can predict what happens as the dragon grows up. I can infer from the cover that the dragon is young at the beginning. I think that a dragon would be harder to raise as they get older.

Drawing Conclusions Sometimes readers draw conclusions about story events by organizing story details. Crack! Sound came from Miller’s cave. Conclusion Look at page 371 in your reading book. I want you to create your own chart using page 371. Draw conclusions about how Ma feels about Hank.

Suffixes –y and -ly A suffixes is added to the end of a base word. Carefully I rolled the egg into the cave. He did have a healthy appetite! -ly means “in a certain way” -y means “full of”

Drawing Conclusions TE pg. 393A Look at page 374 in your reading book. Until the flights with Hank, the girl had been afraid of the dark. Flying at night with Hank was just grand. The girl wasn’t afraid of the dark anymore.
