Be Happy You’re Not Mouse by Morgan Taylor

Once upon a time, there was an ogre that wan t ed to be turned into a mouse. The ogre was wondering what it would be like to be turned into a mouse?
6
The ogre found some books about mice and started reading. Jack bumped into the ogre. Jack and the ogre have been friends for a long time.
8
“I want to be a mouse because too many people are scared of me,” Ogre said sadly. “I can guide you to a castle where a fairy can change you into a mouse,” said Jack. “We have a problem though the castle has a force field.”
10
So, Jack and the Ogre set off to find the castle. On their way, they met a bobcat in a nearby village. (The townspeople were afraid of the bobcat). The bobcat growled “What are you doing in my village!”
12
Jack shook, “We are heading to a castle to find a fairy so that she can change ogre into a mouse. People are afraid of him, so he wants to become a mouse.” Bobcat said, “People are terrified of me too! Can I join you too?”
14
Suddenly, a group of townspeople started to chase Jack, ogre and bobcat. The three ran so fast that they did not see the force field ahead. Zap! Luckily, they were running so fast that they survived the force field.
16
A couple days have gone by and Jack, Ogre and Bobcat finally reach the fairy’s castle. There were guards at the door and they knew it would be hard to get into the castle.
18
Bobcat started growling at the guards. The fairy heard the growling and looked out the window to see what was happening. The fairy flies down to greet Jack, Ogre and Bobcat, “Why are you here?”
20
“We are here because we know you have special powers. Ogre wants you to turn him into a mouse because people are afraid of him,” Jack explained. Bobcat adds, “People are terrified of me too. I want to be changed into a human, so no one is afraid of me.” The fairy warns Ogre and Bobcat, “Understand, if I change you, then you cannot change back.”
22
Ogre and Bobcat decided that they want to change. So the fairy waves her wand and poof! Ogre became a mouse and Bobcat became a man. They thanked the fairy and went back to the village. Happily, the people greet the new man and Jack, but are afraid of the mouse. Jack decides that mouse will be his pet, and the new man becomes the town’s mayor. The moral of the story is always be yourself, because no one can change you.
