6 ALEKS Chemistry  Take in mid-July after Aleks Math  Allows time for 6-week learning modules  Students taking CH their first semester  Fall 2010 first offering so no data available

7 CS Preparation  Placement test offered this summer  11 out of 31 have passed  CS 305J  Course for students with little to no background in programming

8 CS 307 Preparedness  variables and data types  expressions, order of operations  decision making– if statements, including boolean logic and boolean expressions  loops (fixed and variable repetition)  procedures or functions  structures or records or objects  parameters (reference and value parameters, local variables, scope, problem generalization)  arrays (vectors, lists)  top down design (breaking big rocks into little rocks)  algorithm and data design  create and implement program of at least 200 - 300 lines of code, with 4 to 8 functions / methods / sub routines / procedures

9 Dual/Transfer Credit  MUST request transcript be sent to UT.  Grade received will NOT apply to UT GPA.  Professional schools WILL count your dual credit courses in your GPA.  Use Automated Transfer Equivalency (ATE) to determine transferability prior to enrolling in course.

11 Claiming AP Credit  Not all AP credit will apply to every major (i.e. PHY, STA, EDP)  Talk to Rob or Jenn prior to claiming AP credit.  May affect your application to professional schools.  May affect tuition rebate.
