Change/Continuity 0 Changes: political ideology, economic systems 0 Continuity: human rights violations (being patriarchal is a human rights violation) 0 2 BODIES IS FINE -> if you do three to split up length just make sure you have a reason! 0 Reasons: 0 Political ideology -> foreign conquest forced the Chinese to abandon traditional dynasties; communism promised to be a solution to modernize quickly. 0 Economic systems -> Deng Xiaoping needed to improve the economy by allowing foreign investment. In 1976 when Deng took control Mao’s Great Leap Forward and Cultural Revolution destroyed China economically. 0 Human rights violations -> Confucianism (5 Relationships), culture instilled patriarchal values and geography solidified it; China has never had a governmental system that has fostered natural rights or democratic ideals.
