Agenda Provide an update on the activities of the Social Investor Working Group Update on Principles for Investors in Inclusive Finance Solicit input for the agenda of the Investor Roundtable at the SPTF Annual Meeting

Four action groups were created within the Social Investor Working Group 1.Profiling microfinance investment vehicles 2.Tool sharing and harmonization 3.Country level analysis of market over- indebtedness 4.Microfinance investment vehicle ratings

Profiling microfinance investment vehicles Purpose Clarifying MIV intent, expectations on social performance, and risk-return profile Activities Drafted a proposed framework for disclosure on MIV intent to be integrated in reporting platform Consultation with action group raised questions about need for and usefulness of such a framework NEXT STEP: looking at social investor group for guidance

Tool sharing and harmonization Purpose Share tools on social performance screening, due diligence templates, and reporting templates used to collect SP data from MFIs, in order to improve and align them Activities Agreed to concentrate on creating a common core of 10 due diligence questions while add-ons can vary for every social investor and will not be harmonized for now Core questions should be based on SPTF Standards for Social Performance and IRIS SNS, Oikocredit, Cordaid and TJ working to identify and harmonize 10 common core questions in the due diligence process

Country level analysis of market over- indebtedness Purpose Explore how investors can tackle over-indebtedness and coordinate responses. Activities Blue Orchard convened discussions on Peru, at the REDCAMIF and Foromic meeting in 2010 NEXT STEPS?

Microfinance investment vehicle ratings Purpose Discuss a new framework for financial and social ratings of MIVs Activities Held kick-off meeting in November 2010 - reviewed and drew lessons from the pilot MIV rating project Conclusions: Agree on terms, disclosure and standards for what is “fair” or “responsible” Insist on transparency and MIV reporting Determine demand and sustainability possibilities for MIV ratings Education and Awareness Raising NEXT STEP: Integration of learning into development of assessment framework PIIF.

Investor Roundtable at the 2011 SPTF Annual Meeting Date of Investor Roundtable: Monday June 20, 2011, 10:00-17:00 concluded by reception of Mayor Location: Den Bosch, Netherlands Agenda: Focus of roundtable is on responsible behaviour of MIVs and implementing PIIFs. We invite comments/ideas on draft agenda and potential contributions.
