Peking Opera Peking Opera arose in the late 18 th century and became fully known and recognize by the mid 19 th century. It had also speeded to other counties such as; The United States and Japan.

Mei Lanfang The performance on Peking Opera was name after Mei Lanfang.

Four Main Characters Sheng- a common name of male characters ● Lao Sheng refers to a middle-age man ● Xiao Sheng means young man without a bread Dan- a common name of female characters ● Gui men Dan means young, married girl ● Dao Ma Dan means strong women, female general

Costumes Costumes are an integral part of the Peking Opera In the early days opera costumes were mainly made of wool or coarse cloths; later satin, crepe and silk were used decorated with various meticulously embroidered patterns.
