CMS Si-Tracker Project – August 17, 2006 - Bagby 1 Tracker Cable and Cooling Pipe Mapping  Linda Bagby

CMS Si-Tracker Project – August 17, 2006 - Bagby 2 Scope of Work  Generate Tracker maps for  Power and Control cables  Cooling Pipe  Format is currently in Excel spreadsheets  Needs to be downloaded into the ‘official’ database

CMS Si-Tracker Project – August 17, 2006 - Bagby 3 Power and Control Cable Map  Map variables for each detector   End  Layer  Sector (-TIB/-TID)  Cooling Loop  Control Loop  Petal, String, Rod  Arc Position TOB TEC TIB- TID-   End  Sector  Stack (Board)  Connector   Rack  Crate  Slot  Channel DEFINED REQUIRED

CMS Si-Tracker Project – August 17, 2006 - Bagby 4 Cooling Pipe Map  Map variables for each detector   End  Layer / Sector  Control Ring  Cooling Loop  Arc Position TOB TEC- TIB TID   End  Sector (A / C)  Pipe designation   End  +/- X (Near / Far)  Detector  Inlet (A) / Outlet (C)  Flow Type  Position DEFINED REQUIRED

CMS Si-Tracker Project – August 17, 2006 - Bagby 5 Resources  Engineering distribution:  Andrea Moggi  MARGHERITSA_FINALE-upd_ago_06.zip  PP1-Final-ver4-3_Tot-PIPES.xls  Nick Lumb  Tkges017b-modif 19october2005-a-4.pdf  TEC_pipes_Oct05.xls  Antti Onnela  TOB_cooling_manifold_and_feed-pipes_28072006.xls  Paola Tropea  060719_Tkcooling_names.xls  060714_SiStrip_lineNb.pdf  Mechanical distribution  Hans, Sabastian  services_distr15sept05.xls

CMS Si-Tracker Project – August 17, 2006 - Bagby 6 How many pipes per sector???  Depends on who you talk to….. Engineering distribution based on A=Inlet and C=Outlet Range discrepancy: Working with TEC and TIB to resolve this issue. Hans distribution (looks like) it doesn’t follow same constraint Distribution discrepancy: Investigating why quadrant distribution doesn’t match Engineering for TEC, TIB, and TID—Mechanical constraints?? We are confident pipes can be arranged to meet 7 count limit.

CMS Si-Tracker Project – August 17, 2006 - Bagby 7 Summary  Documentation required  Power and Control Cable Map  Sector assignments for –TIB, -TID  Arc positions for TEC, -TIB, -TID  PP1 Connector Assignments  Electronics Crate, Slot, Channel assignment  Indexed cross-sectional drawing of PP1 input and output  Correspondence between arc position  PP1  rack channel  Cooling Pipe Map  Arc positions for –TEC  Indexed cross-sectional drawing of PP1 input and output  Pipe plant from PP1  cooling panel Can only assign range now.  Pipe Count  Investigating discrepancies between Engineering and Hans pipe distribution.  Time Scale  Obtain required documentation by August 24.  Deliver maps by end of September.
