MLK: Why He Worked For Equality When Martin Luther King Jr. was little, he found out that black and white people were treated differently. He wanted to make a difference. He gave a speech for equality in August 1963. Some people did not agree with Dr. King’s words and tried to stop his work by putting him in jail, but he did not stop. How MLK made a difference Martin Luther King changed the world by showing the country that black people just had different colors of skin. He fought for freedom, peace and brotherhood. The day Martin died the civil rights had lost a great leader.

Martin Luther King Why He Was Famous Martin Luther King Jr believed that no matter what skin color you were, you should be treated equally. In the 1930’s people treated black skinned men, woman and children unfairly. Other black skinned people believed the same thing King did, but did nothing about it. He made many speeches about how people treated people differently. Dr. King’s dream of equality came true! He freed the black people with his speeches and protests.

Why MLK Got Sent To Jail DDDDr. Martin Luther King Jr. stood for what he believed and wouldn’t back down no matter what happened. He went to jail several times for trying to make his dreams come true.

Two Reasons He Got Arrested Dr. King and others went to southern cities and told people to sit anywhere on the bus and to try to eat at public places. Some white people got mad and sent King and many other blacks to jail. In 1960 Dr. King was sent to jail for sitting on a bench where white people wanted to sit while waiting for his meal.
