WebQuest Exploration of the Sioux, Pueblo, and Powhatan By Juan Prudencio Jaquelyn Smith Jimmy Turner

Explorations After exploring these tribes they are very different. The Sioux live in the bread basket of the US. They were hunters of bison and had a strong government. The Powhatan live in modern day Virginia. A warring tribe that survived do their nearness to the ocean to fish. The Pueblo live in modern day New Mexico. A hunter and gatherer tribe, they were peaceful living in adobe buildings to beat the NM heat!!

Artifact 1 This artifact belongs to the tribes of the Pacific Northwest. With traditional carvings on the boat and their proximity to fishing, this belongs to them.

Artifact 2 This artifact belongs to the Pueblo. With the NM mountains in the background, this artifact is an example of traditional Pueblo architecture.

Artifact 3 This artifact also belongs to the Pueblo. The Pueblo had to create food storage containers due to the high rate of food spoilage. The paintings are traditional Pueblo

Artifact 4 This artifact belongs to the tribes of the Pacific Northwest. The totem pole and distinct art on the building belong to them.

Artifact 5 I am not sure with this. This is not Pacific Nortwest pottery. The are is not traditional Pueblo either. But I have found nothing similar to any tribe. I will guess the Mound Builders.

Artifact 6 I didn’t find an exact match, but I found similar carvings done by the Mound Builders. This belongs to them.

Artifact 7 This belongs to the Mound Builders. They often built mounds are had ceremonies on top of them.

Artifact 8 This artifact is a traditional carving of the tribes of the Pacific Northwest.
