Final Review Project Goals: You will recall the important historical facts from 9 th and 10 th grade in preparation for the history STAR You will practice historical thinking and writing in preparation for 11th grade You will overcome a great challenge so that you can feel strong going into the summer

Final Review Project Overview 9 Content Standards (subjects) For Each Standard: Show that you know the basic facts Show that you can think & analyze historically. Basic Facts: Key Terms & Content Summaries Historical Thinking: Historical Artifact Analysis

What if you have already shown mastery of the standard? If you have scored 95% or better on Mastery assignments for the standard in 10 th grade, then you will show your knowledge in a different way – Artifact Extension It is important to ALWAYS stay challenged This is NOT “busy work”

Final Project Outline Packet Read through it while waiting for your Mastery Slip When you receive your Mastery Slip, check the appropriate boxes on the cover sheet.

Written Mastery Content Summary 1-2 Paragraphs summarizing the standard and sub- standards. Standard outlines as a scaffold: If you fully answer those questions, you will be sure to show mastery. *If not doing extension.* Key Terms 10.1-10.4: Include in the summary 10.5-10.9: Make a vocab list, with definitions in your own words

Artifact Find a historical artifact that represents the time period (photo, document, speech, physical object), OR… MAKE a historical artifact that explains the content standard (poster, cartoon, image, poem, video, etc.) Write an explanation of the artifact that summarizes its meaning and relevance *If doing extension* - Write an additional 2 paragraphs: Explaining the significance of the artifact referring to 2-3 historical events from the topic Explaining the significance of this content standard to our modern day.

Your Grade Completion of task for each standard: 10 pts. 3 standards will be randomly chosen for thorough grading: 20 pts/each Total: 70 Mastery Points Whoa! Difference Maker!
