2. Acts 18:1-3 – Our introduction We know specifically that Aquila was a Jew. We do not know specifically about Priscilla.

3. Eph. 5:22, Col. 3:18 – wives submit to your own husband If Priscilla was a Jew then she had to leave also, but if she were a Roman this demonstrates her commitment to the bond of marriage and submission to her husband.

4. We do not know if they are Christians. Paul met them in Corinth and stayed with them as they all had the same vocation, tentmakers.

5. Acts 18:18-19 – They left with Paul and remained in Ephesus. We see here a commitment to spreading the gospel. Acts 8:1-4 – These scattered under persecution and continued to teach. Whether it is under duress or simply by choice we should go about everywhere teaching the gospel.

6. Luke 10:1-12 – The seventy sent out with nothing but the word of the kingdom. Mark 10:28 – Peter speaking for the disciples said they left all.

7. Acts 18:24-26 – Aquila and Priscilla teach Apollos They were not afraid to stand for the truth. While Apollos was teaching all that he knew concerning Jesus he was not teaching those things could ultimately save and he needed to be instructed more accurately.

8. Gal. 2:4-5 – Paul spoke of not yielding for even an hour to those who taught falsely. Gal. 6:1 – Priscilla and Aquila took Apollos aside in this spirit and taught him more accurately. (principle applied) Gal. 2:14 – Sometimes a public rebuke is needed.

9. 1 Cor. 16:19, Rom. 16:5 – They opened their house to other Christians as they met to worship God. Acts 12:12 – Mary opened her house to the church for prayer. Rom. 12:13 – A characteristic of a Christian. This hospitality is both spiritual and physical in nature.

10. 1 Cor. 16:19, Rom. 16:5, Rom. 12:13 1 Tim. 3:2 – elders must be hospitable and able to teach – Titus 1:8 Titus 2:4-5 – admonitions to women 1 Tim. 3:11 – continued admonitions Together Priscilla and Aquila demonstrated these qualities.

11. Rom. 16:3-4 – Priscilla and Aquila had courage. We do not know exactly how they rescued Paul and risked their own lives. Acts 19:30-31 – Some disciples and officials stopped Paul from entering the amphitheater during the riot at Ephesus.

12. 2 Cor. 11:22-28 – Paul went through many trials. 2 Tim. 3:12 – All who live godly will suffer persecution John 15:13 – This demonstrates the love that Priscilla and Aquila had for a fellow brother in Christ.

13. Rom. 16:3 – Paul calls them his fellow workers, both of them. They worked together as a team. As a husband and wife work for the kingdom they can be and have an influence on the many people that they meet throughout their lives.

14. What kind of spouse are you? Are you a Jezebel? A Delilah? A Nabal? ------------------------------------------------ Husbands are you working as hard as your wife? Wives are you working as hard as your husbands? Are you working together as a team for Christ?
