4 Background The national eradication of mud schools and other inappropriate structures was identified in President’s 2008 State of the Nation address as a national priority

NDBE & Provincial DoEs are responsible Recently DBE was allocated R8.2 billion over 2011-2013 MTEF period for an Accelerated School Infrastructure Delivery Initiative (ASIDI).
